Clark’s Market: Keeping Managers on the Floor Across 10 Stores
Veesion does kind of make you feel okay to run upstairs for a few minutes, or you’re anywhere in the store. It’s kind of your eyes for you.
Clark’s Market is a third-generation family grocer, founded in Aspen, Colorado in the 1970s and now running 10 stores across Colorado, Utah and Arizona. Its priority has always been simple: keep staff on the floor helping customers. Here’s how Veesion supports that goal.

Keeping eyes on the floor
Clark’s Market doesn’t want staff sitting in a back office watching a camera. Before Veesion, spotting possible shoplifting meant everyone on the floor keeping a constant lookout while they worked. Since each manager handled it differently, it was difficult for the team to know what had been taken, or when.

For Ben, Assistant Store Director, that added up to “a lot of extra labor” just to keep an eye out and make sure the store wasn’t losing money to theft.
An early warning system on their own cameras
Clark’s Market started with a small pilot, then rolled Veesion out to as many stores as they could.
Veesion works on the cameras they already had. The AI flags gestures commonly linked to shoplifting, like concealment or a product placed in a bag, and sends a short video alert to the team’s phones. Staff see what happened and where, so they can act earlier. The team still decides what to do; Veesion’s job is to put that moment in front of them.
Fits into the day
Veesion “fits in pretty easily,” Ben says. It runs from an app on his phone. It also means he can step away from the floor without worrying: “It does make me feel a little bit more at ease that I’m not going to miss something.”
Focused on a People First Culture

For Clark’s Market, the real win is keeping managers on the floor and giving each store the same tools and metrics. As Joseph Clark, Retail Systems & Automation, puts it, that lets the team focus on “our people-first culture.”
Ben puts it this way: “It’s kind of your eyes for you.”
