Privacy Policy

This Confidentiality and Cookies policy governs and informs you of the way in which Veesion SAS (a simplified joint-stock company, entered in the Nanterre Business Register under number RCS 838 664 274 00019, with head office at 42 Rue de Tauzia, 33800 Bordeaux, hereinafter referred to as “us/we” or “Veesion”) processes and protects the personal information that may identify you directly or indirectly (“Personal Data” or ‘Data”) as the Data controller and as the Data processor.

This Policy also informs you of the conditions for placing and using cookies on your electronic communications device when you browse our Website https://veesion.io/ (the “Website”).

Veesion attaches great importance to protecting and respecting private life and undertakes to comply with the provisions of Regulation 2016/79, known as the “GDPR”, Law No. 78-17 known as the “Data Protection Law” currently in force, and Directive 2002/58/EC known as the “e-Privacy [directive]” (hereinafter jointly referred to as the “Applicable Regulations”).

We keep your Data until your contact request or application is processed and, at most, for a period of five (5) years after your last contact with us. Within the limits of the Applicable Regulations, Veesion may keep records and copies of all correspondence made with you, including this Personal Data.

1.2 When we act as the processor, on behalf of our clients

Veesion has developed a solution based on artificial intelligence that allows for detecting behaviours that could potentially cause damage to people or property as well as for detecting people falling (our “Service”). Our Service is based solely on an algorithmic processing of movements and does not use facial recognition, client monitoring or identity registration. Our Service processes the Personal Data of our clients’ consumers, through movement detection, on behalf of and on the sole instruction of our clients (the controllers). When we supply our Service to our clients, the latter act as the controllers for your Personal Data used by our Service, whereas we are the processors.

As the controllers, our clients are solely responsible for providing you with information on the processing of your Personal Data and on exercising your rights. If you have any questions relating to exercising your rights, we recommend you read the confidentiality policy for the controller concerned.

As the processor, Veesion assists its clients in analysing the Data processing performed via the Service, and in displaying an initial level of information in the locations where our Service is implemented.

2. Cookies and trackers

A cookie is a small text file comprised of letters and figures, saved in a dedicated space on your device when you visit a Website. The aim of these cookies is, in particular, to allow you to browse effectively between the pages on the Website https://veesion.io/ and to remember your preferences in order to improve your user experience.

3. The recipients of your data

Within Veesion, only strictly authorized personnel are called on to process your Data.

We are likely to share your Data with some of our processors, such as technical service providers for the functional requirements of the Website, analytical solution suppliers, in order to allow our site to be used correctly and to improve its performance, as well as advertising service providers. We are also likely to share your Data with our advisors (such as lawyers) within the framework of managing any disputes and litigation.

Furthermore, your Data may be provided to any authority legally authorized to know it or to any other third party to which we are obliged to give access to your Data. In this case, Veesion shall not be liable for the conditions under which the staff of these authorities have access to and use your Data.

4. Transfer of your Data

We process and keep your Data in the European Economic Area.

When we call on some of our processors, we are likely to transfer your data to third countries; in this case, these transfers are framed by suitable guarantees under the sense of Article 46 of the GDPR, in particular, where applicable, by the new European Commission standard contractual clauses ((EU) 2021/914).

5. How do we ensure your data is secure?

In accordance with the Applicable Regulations, we implement all the appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your Personal Data. In particular, we implement the following measures:

  • Strict access control for administrators
  • Services shown on the Internet reduced to the strict minimum, with implementation of a bastion
  • Implementation of firewall rules limiting the network flows to those strictly necessary
  • Annual infrastructure audit
  • Incidents log held
  • Data backed up in a different location from the database
  • Review of every change, systematic automated tests

6. Your rights

6.1 When we act as the controller

When Veesion acts as the controller, you can exercise the following rights, within the limits set by the Applicable Regulations:

Right of access and post-mortem directives: You can ask Veesion to confirm that your Data is or isn’t processed, as well as for the provision of your Data held by us. You also have the right to set directives on the fate of your Data after your death;

Rectification, restriction and erasure: You can ask Veesion to rectify any of your Personal Data that is inaccurate, as well as to complete incomplete personal Data. You can also ask Veesion to restrict processing of or erase your Personal Data as soon as possible once Veesion no longer needs to keep it;

Objection and withdrawal of consent: You can object to your Data being processed on legitimate grounds. You can always, and without cost, object to receiving any marketing communication from us. You can also withdraw your consent when the processing of your data is based on this consent;

Portability: On request, Veesion will send you the Personal Data you have provided to us and, in as far as possible, will provide this Data directly to another controller of your choice, in a portable format if the processing is based on your consent or on a contract;

Complaint: You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority, such as the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés in France via the Website www.cnil.fr

The request must come directly from the person concerned, who must be able to prove their identity. A copy of your ID document may be requested, within the limits of the Applicable Regulations. Veesion will strive to follow up on your request as quickly as possible and, in any event, within the periods set out in the Applicable  regulations.

6.2 When we act as the processor

When Veesion acts as the processor of your data, we will, with our clients, give you an initial level of information, but only our clients shall be responsible for informing you about exercising your rights and allowing you to exercise these.

To exercise data protection rights, we ask our clients’ consumers using our Service to make their requests directly of the appropriate client (the controller).

7. Entry into force

This Confidentiality Policy entered into force on 23 December 2021.

We may have to modify or update this Confidentiality Policy. We recommend you view this page regularly to find out any changes or updates made to our Confidentiality Policy.

If there is a substantial modification of the Confidentiality Policy, Veesion undertakes to inform the people concerned about this.
